Sign in with Google, with Apple where your device supports it, or with your email address, using a password or, on the website, a magic link. Apple, Google and emailed sign-in links that share an email address resolve to the same account.

Yes, in the Mac app. Open a deck while online and it stays on your Mac, your grades save on the device, and they sync with their original scheduling when you reconnect. The website needs a connection.

Yes. Export a deck from Anki as an .apkg file and open it in the Anki Portal in Klappa. The deck tree, images, note types and the review state already on each card come across, and large collections stream in rather than loading all at once.

Import the same deck again. A re-import updates existing notes in place and repairs media that did not resolve the first time, without duplicating cards or resetting your schedule.

Only on the website, which accepts deck files up to 1.9 GB. The downloadable Klappa apps have no upload cap and are limited only by your device's storage, which is why the Mac app opens collections too large for a browser tab.

FSRS-6, a scheduler with 21 parameters, sets the day each card is next due from your recall history, aiming at a desired retention of 90% by default. In Study and Learn, Klappa's own FMSR-1 model adjusts how many days a review card waits, using that card's own review history. With too little history it leaves the FSRS-6 schedule unchanged.

No. Anki has offered FSRS built in since version 23.10. Klappa pairs FSRS-6 with FMSR-1, its own per-card model, and adds Cortex, Klappa Live and an AI assistant connector around the same decks.

Yes. Any deck can be saved as a .klappa file, and decks in the Anki Portal export back to an .apkg file, with review history included if you tick that option. For a full copy of your account data, email support.

Klappa does not sell your account information (your name, email, avatar or card text), shows no ads and has no advertising identifier. Separately, Klappa can license a pseudonymized study dataset to researchers and companies who study how people learn, and your reviews are included only if you turn on "Licence my study data for research" and confirm you are 16 or older.

It holds review activity such as the rating you gave a card, how long you took and the schedule that followed, never your name, email or card text. Identifiers are replaced with coded values, but because Klappa keeps the key that makes those codes it is pseudonymized rather than anonymous, and it is treated as personal data. The licence is off by default. Turn it off, or turn on Exclude my reviews from research in Settings, and you are left out from the next export on. Records already delivered in an earlier export cannot be recalled.

The scheduler needs them. Each answer's rating, timing and resulting schedule is what Klappa reads to choose your next card, so recording it is how the app works rather than an option.

Open Settings, go to Danger zone and choose Delete your account, then type your email address to confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent and removes your decks, cards, review history, connections and sign-in. You can also delete your account from the first-run screen before you accept the Terms.

Klappa Cortex answers questions from a curated medical library and marks the passages it used, explains your cards answer by answer, and can generate cards and study guides. All of it is off until you turn on AI features, on the first-run screen, in Settings under Privacy, or when you first ask Cortex a question, and confirm you are 16 or older. Everything else in Klappa works the same without it.

No. Cortex answers from a curated medical library, not from your decks. With AI features on, the text a feature needs goes to the AI processors Groq, NVIDIA and Hugging Face: your question, the cards you ask it to explain or generate from, and your deck text so decks can be sorted by subject. With AI features off, none of it is sent.

Klappa Live runs questions for a class from a projector while every student answers from a phone or laptop. The host sees results as each question is answered and gets a report at the end, and students can join without a Klappa account.

Yes, through Klappa MCP. You connect the assistant over OAuth 2.1 and it gets 19 tools scoped to your own account, for creating decks and cards, searching, and fetching due reviews. Revoke the key you connected with in Settings and the assistant loses access within an hour.
