Klappa is a free flashcard app that Fahim Mohi, a dental student, built for his own exam decks. It schedules with FSRS-6, runs on the web and on Mac, and comes from someone who studies with it every day.

Who builds Klappa
Klappa is built by Fahim Mohi, a dental student in Poland. He started it for one reason: his own exam decks.
He built the app he wanted to study with. In his words, it is the reason he now studies less and remembers more. That is one student's experience, not a promise about your grades.
Klappa is independent and not affiliated with any university.

What Klappa is
A flashcard app for medical, dental and nursing students, and anyone with an exam worth remembering. Everything below is part of the free app today.
- A schedule built from your answers
- FSRS-6 decides the day each card comes back, from your own recall history. In Study and Learn, Klappa's own FMSR-1 model adjusts how many days a review card waits, using that card's own review history. With too little history it leaves the FSRS-6 schedule unchanged.
- Four ways to study one deck
- Flashcards for recall, Learn for multiple choice, Write to type the answer, and Test for a graded pass.
- Klappa Cortex
- An optional study AI that answers from a curated medical library and shows the sources behind each answer. Turn it on and it explains your cards in Learn Mode. It never reads your decks.
- Klappa Live
- Put a question on the projector, let the room answer from their phones, and keep an end-of-session report.
- The decks you already have
- Import Anki .apkg files with folders, images, note types and each card's schedule, and export back to .apkg when you want to leave.
HOW WE BUILD
What we believe
- Open scheduling with a known floor
- Klappa schedules with FSRS-6, an open model. Anki has offered FSRS since version 23.10 and FSRS-6 since 25.07. FMSR-1, the model we add on top, only changes a review card's interval once it has enough of that card's history, so the floor is the FSRS-6 schedule you would have had anyway.
- An AI that cites its sources
- Cortex is told to answer only from the passages it retrieved and to cite them by number. If nothing relevant turns up, it says so instead of guessing, so you can check an answer before you trust it.
- Export it, delete it, or license it: your call
- No ads and no advertising identifiers. You can export your decks, and delete your whole account from Settings. Licensing your study activity for research is a separate switch that stays off unless you turn it on.

One account signs in on the web and in the Mac app. Reviews you grade offline on the Mac sync back the moment you reconnect.

How to reach us
Email fahimmohi1024@gmail.com for anything: a bug, a deck that will not import, a data request, or a report about shared content. Include your account email, your device and what you expected to happen. Replies usually go out within two working days.

Is Klappa free?
Yes. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase, and Cortex and Live are included. There are no ads.
Is Klappa the only app that uses FSRS?
No. Anki has offered FSRS since version 23.10 and FSRS-6 since version 25.07. Klappa uses FSRS-6 to set the day a card comes back and adds FMSR-1, its own model, which adjusts a review card's interval from that card's own history.
Can I get Klappa on my iPhone?
Not yet. The iPhone and iPad app has been submitted to Apple and is not in the App Store. Klappa runs in any modern browser, and the Mac app is available to download today.
