Klappa is operated by Fahim Mohi ("Klappa", "we", "us"). By using Klappa you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Klappa is a flashcard and spaced-repetition study app. We provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis and may change or discontinue features.
You are responsible for your account, your API keys, and the connectors you authorize. Keep your credentials secret.
Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to use Klappa. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you. The optional AI features and the optional research licensing described in the Privacy Policy require you to confirm that you are 16 or older.
Klappa has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. This covers everything other people can see: shared and public decks and their titles, descriptions and cards, public study guides, decks and folders shared into school communities (Commons), usernames, display names and profiles, and Klappa Live nicknames, questions and answers. You must not post or share content that is:
You can report a shared deck, a public study guide or another user's profile from inside the app, and report a question during a Klappa Live session. You can block a user: they can no longer send you friend requests or notifications. Anyone, with or without an account, can also report content by emailing fahimmohi1024@gmail.com.
We review reports and act on them within 24 hours: objectionable content is removed, and the account of the user who posted it is removed from Klappa. In a Klappa Live session the host can remove a participant from the lobby, and can end the session at any time. We also use an automatic filter: usernames and profile text that match it are refused, and public titles and Klappa Live text that match it are flagged for our review. We may also remove content or accounts we find ourselves. When we remove your content or your account, we tell you why, and you can reply to ask us to reconsider.
You retain ownership of the decks, cards, and study material you create. You grant Klappa the limited license needed to store, process, and display that content to operate the service. When you make a deck public, you also allow other Klappa users to view it, copy it into their own library, and study it. When you share a deck or folder into a school community (Commons), verified members of that community can view it. You can stop sharing at any time; this does not remove copies other users already made of a public deck. You confirm that you have the right to upload and share what you post.
Your review activity is used to run the scheduler. It is included in the licensed research dataset only if you opt in, as described in the Privacy Policy.
If you believe content on Klappa infringes your copyright or other rights, email fahimmohi1024@gmail.com with: the work you believe is infringed; a link to, or a description of, where the content is on Klappa; your contact details; and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised and that your notice is accurate. We remove or disable content we find infringing and tell the user who posted it, who may reply if they believe it was removed by mistake. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Anki is a trademark of Ankitects Pty Ltd. Klappa is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anki; it reads Anki's open .apkg file format so you can bring your own decks.
Klappa can generate study material and explanations using AI models. These AI features are off unless you turn them on, and turning them on sends your text to the AI processors named in the Privacy Policy. AI output can be inaccurate; verify anything you rely on for exams or clinical/academic decisions. You are responsible for how you use generated content.
Klappa is a study tool. Decks, cards, and AI explanations, including those on medical and health topics, are for learning only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and must not be used for patient care.
When you connect a third-party AI assistant, you authorize it to act on your account within the scope you approve. You can disconnect an assistant at any time by revoking, in Settings, the API key you used to connect it; it loses access within an hour. You are responsible for the assistants you connect.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Klappa is provided without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, or lost study progress. Keep your own backups of important content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, post objectionable content, abuse other users, or abuse the service. You may stop using Klappa at any time and delete your account from inside the app.
We may update these terms. For a significant change we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect; if you keep using Klappa after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account from inside the app.
If you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, these terms are governed by the laws of Poland. You keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
If you live anywhere else, these terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, and disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Virginia. This does not take away any right you have under the mandatory law of the place where you live.
